Mission
Statement
The mission of Cornerstone Christian School is to provide an
accredited Christ-centered education for students from
kindergarten through the 12th grade in an environment where
God and education come together. Graduates will be prepared
both spiritually and academically to be in the world to
serve God for life as they proceed to their next level of
education.
In order to accomplish this mission:
1. The School offers an education that is rooted in
Christian and classical traditions. The Christian foundation
recognizes the Bible as the final authority in matters of
life and thought. The classical element draws upon the
heritage of Western civilization and culture. Students are
encouraged to develop a worldview that integrates Christian
faith with all areas of learning and living.
2. The School emphasizes the greatness of America's
heritage. Students come to understand the present and to
gain perspective on the future through acquiring a knowledge
of the past. They are to live virtuously and nobly through
the example of those who have gone before. Biblical
doctrines of self discipline, respect for authority,
obedience to law, and love for flag and country are
emphasized.
3. The School functions as a nurturing community in which
students are seen as unique persons created in the image of
God with individual talents and needs. Students are taught
by skilled teachers whose desire is for each student to
achieve his highest potential. Individualized teaching plans
and smaller classroom size allow the students to reach their
academic goals.
4. The School offers its students a mathematics and science
program that prepares them for the scientific and
technological advances of the modern world. Beginning in the
early grades, the mathematics curriculum emphasizes concept
and skill mastery along with practical application to real
life problems. The science curriculum enables the students
to gain understanding of the world around them and the laws
that guide it.
5. The School encourages each student to establish and
develop a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ
and takes an active interest in each students spiritual,
moral, intellectual, and physical habits. Early development
of a disciplined lifestyle in relationship to Jesus Christ
will provide a solid foundation for a responsible and joyful
life.
